Compare the strategies
Five common ways to split your net pay between what you spend and what you save, side by side. Pick the one that fits your life today, not the one that sounds strictest.

How do they compare?
Amounts are for a net pay of 45 000 Kč a month. Needs, wants and living costs are limits, savings a minimum.
| Split | Needs, Kč | Wants, Kč | Savings, Kč | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50/30/20 rule | ≤ 22 500 | ≤ 13 500 | ≥ 9 000 | A steady income where rent and bills fit in half your net pay. |
| 60/20/20 rule | ≤ 27 000 | ≤ 9 000 | ≥ 9 000 | High rent, while still saving 20 %. |
| 70/20/10 rule | ≤ 31 500 living costs | ≥ 13 500 | Debt to pay off, or one spending limit instead of two. | |
| Pay yourself first | no target | no target | ≥ 9 000 | Saving keeps getting skipped. |
| FIRE | no target | no target | ≥ 22 500 | Aiming at financial independence. |
Which one fits me?
- Your bills fit in half your pay? Start with 50/30/20.
- Rent takes more than half? 60/20/20 keeps savings at 20 % and takes the room from wants.
- You have debt to pay off, or want one spending limit instead of two? 70/20/10: living costs up to 70 %, then 20 % saved and 10 % for debt or giving.
- Saving is the thing you keep forgetting? Pay yourself first: the method matters more than the numbers.
- Saving for early freedom? FIRE: put away at least half of what comes in.
Tip. You can switch the split in Flow at any time. The targets only compare, they never change your plan.
